  • Memory Improvement

I can't blame my senior years on my faulty memory. I've always been forgetful, probably because I just don't concentrate enough on what I'm doing. So I'll park my car in a shopping mall and pay absolutely no attention to where I'm parked. Then when my shopping is over, I often waste plenty of time and aggravation searching for my car. That's only one example of my forgetfulness. My family can give you lots more. But now, thanks to the Internet, I've decided to find great sites that will help me sharpen my memory and make me the envy of folks decades younger. link to categories
  1. Mind Tools explains several memory techniques. 9/10/2015
  2. What I like about Help Guide is that this site gives you games to practice your new techniques. I had a great time with the "Tell yourself a story" technique that challenged me to remember twenty items. Before using the story technique, I only recalled about five items in the time limit, but once I tried the story technique my score went up to seventeen, and all in the the same order the items were presented. 9/10/2015
  3. Here are some more games to sharpen and challenge your memory, all given by the Bright Focus Foundation (BFF).  BFF has supported Alzheimer research. Don't be turned off by the thought that these games only appeal to someone fearing they might have beginning signs of Alzheimer's. I think they are a challenge to even those with the sharpest of memories. I don't think they teach memory techniques, but they can serve as brain calisthenics just challenging you to use the memory and other mental capacities you already have but still will benefit from all the exercise you can give them. 9/10/2015
    • Picture Memory 9/10/2015
